The University of Michigan Indian American Student Association is proud to present our 33rd annual cultural show, Junoon: Unleash Your Passion!
UAAO Collab Event
This event aims to address important topics in the AA&PIA community such as the model minority myth and racial triangulation showing unity between the common struggles Indian Americans and all Asian Americans face. We are united through our struggles, and this event serves to show unity in our collective community.
Meditative Mehndi
Dil Se and IASA recognize the stresses that come along with being a student especially around Midterm season! This event is for having a conversation about maintaining mental wellness and distressing.
IASA Day of Service
Join us for IASA’s Annual Day of Service. We will be volunteering at Destined for Greatness in Detroit, where we will engage in hands-on service activities such as organizing school supplies, toys, and more!
Scavenger Hunt
Join IASA for a scavenger hunt! Get into groups with fellow IASA members, and explore campus to complete fun tasks while competing for a prize.
Fireside Chaat
Come join us for an insightful conversation with Professor Rovel Sequira about the historical and contemporary state of LGBTQIA+ activism and life in India.

Yoga and Mindfulness
Come join us in the League Kalamazoo room for a night of de-stressing before finals! We’ll be going through guided meditation and yoga poses while learning about their significance in Indian culture.. Make sure to BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat)!

Indian Representation in American TV Series
Join us @6:30pm on October 13th in the Union Kuenzel room for a night of taking a deeper look at Indian representation in TV shows! We’ll be breaking down the portrayals of characters we all know, and how to potentially improve them (hint: we’ll do some skits at the end)!
Dogs and Dhoklas
Come join us on to meet other members of IASA! Learn about our organization, important mental health resources, and enjoy the company of cute therapy dogs from around our campus. We’d love to see you there :)
Kulfi Social
Looking for a way to take a kul(fi) break from school? Come join us for our first ever Kulfi Social where we will have Kulfi and Lassis while supplies last and test your knowledge with some fun trivia! Remember, to get the IASA point you have to stay for at least 75% of the event which is no trouble because times flies when you’re having fun!
Colorism in Beauty Industry
Preferences for lighter skin have existed for a long time, and India is infamously known for promoting fair skin in the beauty industry. Join us for a workshop to discuss the historical and present day impacts of colorism on the experiences of South Asians.
